Cobblemon PokeNav

by MeAlam1

With PokéNav equipped, players can see which Pokémon can be spotted in the area they are standing in, using a configurable radar device.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverMozilla Public License 2.0Open source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

PokéNav adds a small handheld device that displays a radar of nearby Pokémon spawns. The radar reports which species can appear in the current location, and it can be configured for range and display. A separate fishing feature, named FishingNav in the author text, predicts the catch by checking the spawn before a cast. An optional view replaces minimap-style overlays for players who prefer a simpler screen.

The mod is built on the Cobblemon spawn system and works with add-ons that use that same system. Cobblemon and Fabric API are both required, and Mod Menu is optional for in-game settings. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1, with 2.4.2 as the latest file, and the mod runs on the client and the server together. The code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and source code, an issue tracker and a wiki are public.

Key features

  1. Spawn radar device

A handheld device shows which Pokémon can spawn near the player, without a separate map.

  2. Fishing spawn check

A fishing feature checks the spawn table before a cast, so the player can predict the catch.

  3. Configurable radar

The radar range and display can be adjusted, so each player can match it to their screen and playstyle.

  4. Add-on compatibility

The radar reads spawns from the Cobblemon spawn system, so add-ons using that system appear in it.

Use cases

Finding a legendary

A player searching for a rare species can check the radar for its current location instead of exploring at random.

Planning fishing sessions

Before fishing, a player can see which water Pokémon are likely to bite in the current biome.

Who it’s for: Players who want to track Pokémon spawns without a minimap, and server owners who want a spawn tool that works with add-ons built on the Cobblemon spawn system.

How it compares

Full comparison

Cobblemon Capture Notification is server-side only, runs on Fabric for 1.20.1 – 1.21.5, and is not open source, so players need no installation.
