Stoneworks
by Fuzs
Stoneworks gives every vanilla stone type a set of building variants: cobbled forms, bricks, tiles, pillars, shingles and more.
What it does
Stoneworks adds decorative variants for each stone type in the base game. Cobbled versions, bricks, tiles, pillars and shingles can be crafted, and most of them can also be cut into stairs, slabs and walls. Crafting happens in the stonecutter, so a player drops in a stone block and picks the shape that is needed.
Both the server and every player need the mod, so it has to be installed on both sides. It requires Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port on Fabric, and Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge. Forge Config Screens is optional and adds in-game configuration screens. Stoneworks is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.18.2 – 26.3.
Key features
Stone variants
Cobbled, brick, tile, pillar and shingle blocks are available for every stone type found in the base game.
Stairs, slabs and walls
Most of the new variant blocks can also be cut into stairs, slabs and walls for more shape options.
Stonecutter crafting
Variants are produced in the stonecutter from a plain stone block, so no extra materials are needed.
In-game configuration
When a config screen library is present, settings can be changed from the mod menu; otherwise the files in the config folder are edited by hand.

Use cases
Cottages and castles
Builders can use the tiles, shingles and pillars to give stone houses and fortifications more detail.
Who it’s for: Survival builders and players who want more stone shapes for decorative construction. Server owners who run a shared world should install it on the server and on every client.
How it compares
Vanilla stone Variations is a Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and not open source. Patchwork | Building Blocks also targets Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License, but it is not open source. Mwti's Stone Expansion is open source under the MIT License and covers Fabric and Quilt for 1.20.1 only, so it does not match Stoneworks' version range.
