With Simply Dual Wielding, a player can use an item in the offhand slot to attack or to break blocks, without switching the hotbar selection first.

What it does

The mod lets the offhand hand perform attack actions with the item it holds, and it can also break blocks with the offhand. Vanilla keeps the offhand for shields, totems and food, so these actions are a change from standard behavior, and the author lists the situations tested along with a request for reports where the behavior differs.

Server owners and players both set the options. A weak config option set to true for a given slot lets clients use the feature, and the server configuration sent to clients can override a client's own options, so an allowed item action stays off when the server forbids it. Offhand breaking is available in creative mode as well, and Right Click Fixer is listed as essential for the full intended experience.

Simply Dual Wielding is a client and server mod for Fabric only. It is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files exist for 1.20.1 – 1.21.11 across 17 release versions, with 7.3.4+1.21.(11+) for 1.21.11 as the latest Fabric file.

What the author says

Allows offhand attack actions with any item! Does not break vanilla behavior in any circumstances I have tested. please report it if you find any situations where it does. I want to avoid that. There are no fancy animations whatsoever.
