Rope adds a craftable climbable rope block and a Rope Bolt that unrolls a rope column when it lands on a solid surface.
What it does
A player places the rope with a single click, and a shift-click drops an entire column straight down to the ground. Right-clicking an existing segment with the same block extends the column one segment at a time, while a sneak with right-click drops the full column at once. Placement respects build permissions, spawn protection and claims through the Forge and NeoForge place events, and an empty-hand right-click reels in every segment hanging below.
Climbing works like a ladder without the wall: holding jump climbs up, crouching slides down, and players can walk straight through the rope without getting stuck. The Rope Bolt is a shapeless recipe made from an arrow and a rope. When shot at a valid block, it unrolls rope downward and uses up one rope from the inventory. Placed segments are limited only by free inventory space below.
Rope is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.19.2 – 26.3 and the latest files for 26.1.2 and 1.21.11. The server and every player need the mod installed. It requires Architectury API. Rope is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The mod works in single-player when placed in the mods folder, and its translations cover ten languages.
