No Gaps in Yo Items

by LumyNova

Within the 2D generated item models of the game, No Gaps in Yo Items closes the visible seams that existing fixes leave behind.

What it does

Gaps in 2D item models appear as thin seams around the edges of sprites in some situations. The mod applies model-generation and UV adjustments to close those seams, and it is meant as a fallback for cases that other solutions leave unfixed. Sometimes gaps still show after using an existing fix on 1.21.11 and later, which is the situation this project targets.

Because the environment is client-side only, the server does not need the mod and players join without installing it. The author notes that it works well across normal play and multiplayer, and that it stays compatible with resource packs that resize or reshape item models. A few small gaps remain with certain texture packs that use non-standard sword textures, and a tiny pixel artifact near the right edge of tridents and a white pixel on golden apples while being eaten were left as they are to avoid causing other problems.

The project is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Files are published for Fabric alone, across 16 release versions 1.21 – 26.2, with 1.0.1+26.2 as the latest file for 26.2 released on 2026-06-26. Versions below 1.21.8 are noted as running fine without optimization, and 1.21.8 and above show a small FPS drop.

Key features

  1. Fixes 2D item model gaps

Thin seams around the edges of generated 2D item sprites are reduced by adjusting how the models are generated.

  2. Edge stability tweaks

UV and model-generation adjustments aim to keep item edges stable across different item models.

  3. Resource pack compatibility

Packs that resize or reshape item models can be used alongside the mod, according to the author notes.

  4. Known remaining artifacts

Small gaps remain with some non-standard sword textures, and a pixel artifact is still visible on tridents and golden apples.

What the author says

No Gaps In Yo Items is a client-side Fabric mod focused on fixing visible gaps on 2D item models in cases where existing solutions fall short. Please report bugs on this mod as my new GPU doesnt have the problems with gaps still showing up after using fixes.
