Load My Resources
by Keksuccino
With Load My Resources installed, images and sounds placed in a folder load on game start, without a resource pack to switch on.
What it does
The mod reads a folder named resources inside the .minecraft directory and loads its contents as a resource pack would. Files placed there keep the same namespace rules as a normal pack: a texture in resources/mytextures is addressed under the namespace mytextures. The loaded content is available to other mods and shows in game as well.
The entry is enabled by default and cannot be turned off by the user. It is hidden from the resource pack menu, so no extra pack appears in the list. Setup takes one launch to generate the folders, after which files can be copied in, including the assets folder of an existing pack. Load My Resources is client-side only, so the server does not need it, and it requires Fabric API on Fabric. It is published for Fabric and Forge across 19 release versions under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is public.
Key features
Automatic loading on start
Resources in the resources folder are loaded every time the game starts, with no selection in the pack menu.
Hidden from pack menu
The loaded entry does not appear in the resource pack list, so players see no extra pack to manage.
Always enabled
The loader is on by default and cannot be disabled from the game settings.
Namespace support
Subfolders behave as namespaces, so a folder name sets the namespace used by textures and sounds inside it.
Pack asset import
Copying the assets folder of an existing resource pack into the resources folder makes its contents load without the pack.

Use cases
Modpack assets
Modpack authors can ship textures and sounds that load automatically, so players do not need to add a pack by hand.
Personal textures
A single player can place custom images or sounds in the folder and see them in game after a restart.
Who it’s for: Modpack creators and players who want custom assets applied at launch without managing a separate resource pack.
How it compares
Asset Bridge works on both client and server and is open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.18 – 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge. MC Folders is client-side only, open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and published for Fabric 1.18.2 only. Load My Resources is also client-side only, but it stays hidden from the pack menu.
