Asset Bridge
Asset Bridge lets players load blocks from other mods into the game visually, even when those mods do not provide the functionality behind them.
What it does
Asset Bridge reads the assets of other mods and registers their block and item models, so the appearance of a block can be added without the original mod's code. This is useful when the mod that provides the appearance targets a different game version or loader. On first launch the mod creates an assetbridge directory, where the files it needs are placed.
The mod is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it, and it requires Fabric API. Files are published for Fabric and Forge, and cover 1.18 – 1.20.1 across 8 release versions, the latest being 0.0.7+1.20.1 for 1.20.1. Asset Bridge is open source under the MIT License, with public source code and an issue tracker.
Key features
Visual-only block loading
Blocks from other mods are loaded for their appearance only, leaving out any behavior the original mod added.
Automatic assetbridge directory
The assetbridge directory is created on first launch, so no manual setup of the folder is needed.
Block and item registration
Blocks and items are registered together with their blockstate JSON files and item model JSON files.
Creative tab placement
Registered blocks and items appear in creative tabs under the Asset Bridge namespace.
Tab and namespace options
A split option lets the tab and namespace be set, so each set of imported assets can be grouped separately.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements
Dependencies declared by the latest file for each loader.

Use cases
Appearance from another version
A block made for a different game version can be shown in a 1.18 – 1.20.1 world for building and decoration.
Adding decoration blocks
Blocks from other asset packs can be added to the creative menu as decoration without changing the original mod.
Who it’s for: Builders and map makers who want decorative blocks from other asset sources, and server owners who want the same imported blocks available to every player.
How it compares
Better Bridging is open source under the Apache License 2.0 and supports Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1, with the client and server environment. Load My Resources is client-side only, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and covers Fabric and Forge for 1.12 – 1.20.4, so it installs on the client alone. Shell Bridge is client-side only, uses All rights reserved and targets Fabric for 1.19.3 – 1.21.8.
