Better Bridging
Better Bridging is a utility mod by InfernalStudios that changes how the bridge-building technique works, using a crafted Bridge Brace item.
What it does
Bridge Brace is the only item the mod adds. Crafted from three planks arranged diagonally at a Crafting Table, it places three blocks in a row at once instead of one, which makes bridges and walls far quicker to lay out. A rotate control, bound by default to the R key, turns the row so the placed blocks can face the right way for a floor, a wall or a bridge.
The Widening Enchantment is a planned addition that will extend the brace further, widening the placed row to 5 or 7 blocks across. Better Bridging requires YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) on every loader to run. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 9 release versions, and it is released under the Apache License 2.0, so the source code is open.
Key features
Three-block placement
One use of the brace places a row of three blocks, replacing the usual one-block-at-a-time motion.
Rotatable row
A hotkey, R by default, turns the placed row to change its orientation for floors, walls or bridges.
Simple crafting recipe
The brace is made from three planks arranged diagonally at a Crafting Table, with no other materials.
Planned enchantment
A Widening Enchantment is planned to expand the brace to 5 or 7 blocks across.

Use cases
Building bridges
Laying a span over a gap takes fewer passes when each use places three blocks at once.
Walls and floors
Rotating the row lets a single placement cover a wall or floor segment in either direction.
Who it’s for: Players who build bridges, walls and floors in survival or creative worlds, on single-player clients and multiplayer servers that run the mod.
How it compares
Asset Bridge is a Fabric and Forge mod for 1.18 – 1.20.1 under the MIT License, and it is open source, while Better Bridging is Fabric, Forge and NeoForge under the Apache License 2.0. Shell Bridge is a Fabric mod for 1.19.3 – 1.21.8, client-side only and not open source, so it does not run on a server the way Better Bridging does. Bridge Tiertagger covers only 1.21.11 on Fabric as a client-side mod released under All rights reserved.
