Mining Master

by InfernalStudios

Mining Master changes ore mining on Forge by adding ten Enchanting Ores that bestow enchantments on tools and armour when mined.

ForgeClient and serverApache License 2.0Open source1.16.5 – 1.20.4

What it does

The mod adds ten new Enchanting Ores to the world. Each ore is most often found in one biome type, such as desert, icy, hilly, jungle, mesa, ocean, swamp, dark forest or forest areas. Mining one and smelting or processing the result grants an item tied to a set of enchantments, for example Flame, Frost Walker, Thorns, Efficiency, Fortune, Aqua Affinity, Smite, Bane of Arthropods or Silk Touch variants. The enchantment is applied through the Smithing Table, and further ores of the same type raise the enchantment level.

The Enchanting Table is not the only path, since several new enchantments cannot be obtained there. A Gem Forge lets players melt down gems and imbue Diamond tools and armour with them. Once Blackstone-level items are available, the mod adds Supra tools built from essence, which are stronger than Diamond and can carry enchantment levels above the usual maximum. The mod runs on Forge and needs both the server and every player to have it, since it is client and server.

Key features

  1. Ten Enchanting Ores

Ten ore types spawn in the world, each tied to one group of enchantments and to a biome type where it is most common.

  2. Smithing Table application

Enchantments from mined ores are applied to tools and armour pieces at a Smithing Table.

  3. Gem Forge

Gems can be melted down at the Gem Forge and used to imbue Diamond tools and armour.

  4. Supra tools

Supra tools made from essence reach beyond Diamond and Netherite and can hold over-levelled enchantments.

Questions

Does Mining Master need to be installed on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which loader does Mining Master support?

Only Forge. Files are published for Forge across nine release versions, covering 1.16.5 – 1.20.4.

Can enchantments from the ores be obtained without the Enchanting Table?

Yes. Ores apply enchantments at a Smithing Table, and some enchantments can only be reached through the Gem Forge and Supra tools.

What the author says

We've added several new Enchantments that cannot be obtained in an Enchanting Table to flesh out some of these gems more, providing a greater incentive to mine them! Early on, you may find the Smithing Table method of enchanting to be enough. Once you attain Blackstone, though, you can take things to the next level.
