With Just Zoom installed, holding a Spyglass or pressing a dedicated key zooms the view, and the mod extends the Spyglass with more zoom and extra settings.

What it does

Just Zoom adds features and improvements to the Spyglass and a standalone zoom mode that works without a Spyglass in hand. The Spyglass features can be turned off in settings if a player wants only the standalone mode. Zoom can be adjusted with the mouse wheel, reaches further than the vanilla Spyglass, and can be used in third-person view, where vanilla zoom is unavailable.

The mod also controls the Spyglass overlay, allowing it to be removed or added to the standalone zoom, and changes the Spyglass sound so it can be made quieter or silent. Settings open with B by default, through the mod's own menu entry on each loader. The standalone zoom is bound to Z by default, or Y on some keyboard layouts.

Just Zoom is client-side only, so servers need nothing and players can use it on any server. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 29 release versions, 1.16.2 – 26.3, and requires Fabric API on Fabric and Konkrete on every loader. The mod is released under a custom license and is not open source; its source code and issue tracker are public.

  1. Spyglass integration

    All zoom features apply to both the Spyglass and the standalone zoom, and the Spyglass integration can be disabled in settings.

  2. Mouse wheel zoom

    The zoom level is adjusted by scrolling the mouse wheel while zoomed.

  3. Higher zoom level

    The maximum zoom is far greater than the zoom the vanilla Spyglass offers.

  4. Third-person zoom

    Zooming also works in third-person view, where the vanilla Spyglass cannot zoom.

  5. Overlay control

    The Spyglass overlay can be removed, or added to the standalone zoom.

  6. Spyglass sound options

    The Spyglass sound can be replaced with quieter clicks or turned off entirely.
