KleeSlabs

by BlayTheNinth

Players who break a double slab with KleeSlabs remove only the half they are looking at, while the other half stays in place.

What it does

Breaking a double slab normally removes both halves at once. With KleeSlabs installed, the half that gets broken is the one under the crosshair, so the other half remains. The behavior applies to all vanilla slabs and to slabs added by many other mods.

The mod was made after a suggestion from Kleetho during one of her livestreams, which is where the name comes from. It requires Balm and Fabric API on Fabric, and the server needs it while the client may leave it out, so a server running it covers every player. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across the 1.18 – 26.3 range, under All rights reserved; the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Half-slab breaking

Breaking a double slab removes only the half the player is looking at, not the whole block.

  2. Vanilla slab coverage

Every vanilla slab type follows the same half-breaking behavior when broken.

  3. Modded slab coverage

Slabs added by many different mods also break one half at a time.

Use cases

Partial slab removal

Players who build with stacked slabs can take out one layer without disturbing the layer beneath it.

Who it’s for: Builders and survival players who work with double slabs, and server owners who want that behavior available to everyone on the server.

Questions

Does KleeSlabs need Balm or Fabric API?

Balm is required on every loader. Fabric API is also required on Fabric, so both must be installed next to KleeSlabs.

Does KleeSlabs have to be installed on the client?

No. The client is optional, so the server running the mod is enough for the half-breaking behavior to apply to players.

Which game versions have KleeSlabs files?

Files cover 1.18 – 26.3 across 30 release versions, with the latest Fabric and NeoForge builds targeting 26.3 and the latest Forge build targeting 1.21.1.

In the catalog

KleeSlabs is one of 29,952 Game mechanics mods on ModsFinder, and one of 19,630 Game mechanics mods for Fabric. 8,071 mods support Minecraft 26.3.

What the author says

This mod allows you to break only one half of a double slab. The half that is broken depends on which half you're looking at. It supports Vanilla slabs as well as many modded slabs. Modded slabs that do not work yet should be reported on the Issue Tracker.
