Ipla (item placer 2)
by pustoykishka
With Ipla installed, a player can place any item on any side of a block, up to four items on one side, using the V key.
What it does
Ipla lets a player place an item on a block side with the V key. Holding Shift while pressing V places the item as a quarter of that side instead. Alt with the mouse wheel rotates an item after placement, and rotating and tilting work on placed items as well. Placed items stay where they were put and remain after the world is reloaded.
The mod suits decorating builds, item displays and storage setups in both single-player and multiplayer worlds. Players can also hold right click with an empty hand to eat food, which the mod adds as a separate action. It needs Architectury API, Fabric API and Mod Menu, and runs on client and server under the MIT License, which is open source. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, covering 20 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.2.
Key features
Place items on block sides
The V key places the held item on the side of a block the player is looking at.
Quarter-side placement
Shift with V puts the item in one quarter of a block side, so up to four items fit on one side.
Free placement
Items can be set on a wall, the floor, a ceiling or in open air, with rotation and tilt controls for fine positioning.
Persistent placed items
Placed items stay in their positions and are restored after the world is reloaded.

Use cases
Decorative builds
Items can be arranged on walls, shelves and ceilings without extra blocks, which suits detailed interiors.
Item displays
Players can mount tools, food or other items in a row on a block side, one quarter at a time.
Who it’s for: Players who decorate builds with items rather than blocks, and server owners who want placement without extra mods on the client side beyond the required libraries.
How it compares
Pro Placer is client-side only, open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and published for 1.20.1 – 26.3, so players need it alone and servers run without it. Sky's Placeables is a client and server mod under the Apache License 2.0, with files for 1.20.1 – 1.20.4 only. Place Anywhere is also client and server, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1.
