Inspecio changes item tooltips in Minecraft, replacing parts of the vanilla text with a more detailed display and adding extra information about items.
What it does
Each part of the extra information can be turned on or off separately. The display can show an armor bar for armor items, the previewed contents of a painting item, the repair cost value, the coordinates of a lodestone compass, and the special tooltip of campfires that hold custom NBT data. Most of these options are configurable.
The mod is a client mod: only the player's client needs it, while a server may run it for extra features and players without it still join normally. Config is managed with the inspecio command, and a default configuration with a full list of entries is provided. Builds exist for Fabric and Quilt across 12 release versions, 1.17 – 1.20.1, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which makes the mod open source. Snapshot builds are published as well.
Key features
Armor bar display
Armor items show an armor bar in their tooltip, which can be enabled or disabled in the configuration.
Painting preview
Painting items show a preview of the known variant in their tooltip, so the artwork is visible without placing it.
Repair cost and lodestone coordinates
Tooltips show the repair cost value of items and the coordinates of the lodestone a compass points to.
Campfire contents
Campfires holding custom NBT data show a special tooltip describing their contents.
Configuration command
The inspecio command manages the configuration, and every tooltip section can be toggled separately.

Inspecio adds new tooltips to items like shulker boxes, filled map, fish bucket, armor, food, banner patterns, etc. Some of those are just replacement to the vanilla "text" tooltip with a more fancy one, others are extra information for the user!
