Lovely Snails adds tameable snail entities that players can pet, feed, decorate and, once grown, ride or equip with storage.

What it does

Snails are a new entity that players can tame. A tamed snail is fed mushrooms, grass, fern or kelp to help it grow toward adult size, and it can be petted with a right click, given a carpet for decoration, or hydrated with a water splash potion. Snails that feel threatened by hostile mobs or attacks pull back under their shell.

Grown snails can be ridden. A big snail accepts a chest to act as an inventory, and it can also equip an Ender Chest to provide portable Ender storage. The inventory is split into storage pages that are browsed by scrolling. Snails dislike poisonous potatoes.

Lovely Snails requires Fabric API. It is published for Fabric and Quilt across 25 release versions, 1.17 – 26.3, with snapshot builds also published. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The mod is released under a custom license and is not open source, though public source code and an issue tracker exist.
