Im 'movens

by ivangeevo

In Im 'movens, exhaustion from sprinting and jumping becomes a cost that shapes how players move, fight and manage hunger and health.

What it does

The mod reworks the exhaustion system so that poor health and hunger management carry penalties. Sprinting and sprint-jumping consume more exhaustion than in vanilla, which turns movement into a tactical choice rather than a free default. Natural regeneration still works: a player regains half a heart every 30 seconds, even at full hunger, so the mod complements the vanilla mechanics instead of replacing them.

Low health and low hunger apply dynamic debuffs, including reduced movement and breaking speed. Players who neglect food or recovery feel the effects during play, which keeps the survival loop more demanding. The mod is a lightweight survival overhaul built on BTWR: Shared Library and Fabric API, and it runs on Fabric for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, which is not open source. Its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Exhaustion penalties

Sprinting and jumping raise exhaustion more than in vanilla, so reckless movement costs food and health over time.

  2. Gradual regeneration

Even with a full hunger bar, a player recovers half a heart every 30 seconds, rather than needing food to start healing.

  3. Health and hunger debuffs

Low health and starving apply debuffs to movement and block breaking speed, with each effect tied to its own threshold.

  4. Accessibility options

Speed-related field of view changes can be disabled, and pain grunts play when health is critically low, with the hunger and health penalties individually configurable.

What the author says

Im 'movens is a lightweight survival overhaul that makes hunger and health management more critical. No longer can you recklessly sprint and jump without consequences—exhaustion hits harder, and neglecting your well-being will slow you down. Every choice matters, forcing you to stay nourished and cautious.
