Healight

by Obscuria

Healight is a client-side Minecraft mod that gives entities a green glow while they regain health, matching the red flash shown when they take damage.

What it does

Healight adds a green glow to any entity that regains health, so the effect works on passive mobs, hostile mobs and other players alike. The glow is the counterpart of the red flash shown when an entity takes damage, which lets a player read both kinds of change in the same way during a fight.

The mod is lightweight and works alongside vanilla and other modded entities. It runs on the client only, so a player installs it alone and the server does not need it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest Fabric and Forge builds are version 1.3.0 for 1.20.1, released on 2025-10-31, while the NeoForge and Quilt builds are version 1.0.1 for 1.21.1, released on 2025-01-31.

Healight is released under a custom license and is not open source. Its source code and issue tracker are publicly linked, so players can read the code and report problems, even though the code cannot be reused freely.

Key features

  1. Green heal glow

Entities that regain health show a green glow, which makes healing visible during combat.

  2. Mirrored damage feedback

The green glow matches the red flash used when an entity takes damage, so both changes read the same way.

  3. Real-time observation

The glow appears as healing happens, which helps players follow allies and enemies during a fight.

  4. Works with other entities

The effect applies to vanilla and modded entities alike, so mobs added by other mods also glow when they heal.
