3D Hands
by AvatarKage
3D Hands replaces the flat first-person hands with 3D player hand models, using the iconic 3D style seen in most classic Minecraft animations.
What it does
Once installed, the player's first-person hands render as 3D models instead of flat sprites. The change is purely visual and affects how the held arms look while playing. It needs [EMF] Entity Model Features and [ETF] Entity Texture Features on the client, which handle the model and texture loading the hands rely on.
The mod is installed only on the client, so a server running a multiplayer world needs nothing and players join without it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 24 release versions, 1.20 – 26.3, with 1.0.1 as the latest file for 26.3, released 2026-08-07. The code is not open source and is licensed as All rights reserved.
Key features
3D first-person hands
Player hands are drawn as 3D models in the first-person view, in the style used by many classic animations.
Works with entity model features
Hand models and textures are loaded through Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features, which must be present.
Client-side visual change
The effect applies only on the player's own screen, so no server-side setup is needed.

Use cases
Animated and cinematic playthroughs
Players recording a first-person video or a show can keep a 3D hand look consistent with the models in the frame.
Who it’s for: Players who want a 3D hand look in first-person view, with a client install and the two required entity feature mods in place.
How it compares
Real Camera is a client-side mod with a MIT License that is open source and covers 1.18.2 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, so it changes the camera rather than the hands. Animation Overhaul is also client-side, but uses a custom license that is not open source and covers 1.19 – 1.20.4 on four loaders, so it targets animations on an older range.
