GraphicQoL

by 1TheCrazy

GraphicQoL turns off several atmospheric fog layers and adds a gamma fullbright option, all from one settings screen on Fabric.

FabricMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.7 – 1.21.8

What it does

Players can switch off the fog that appears in the Overworld, the Nether, the End, underwater, in lava and inside powder snow. Each fog type has its own toggle, so a player can keep one layer while removing the others. A gamma correction fullbright setting raises brightness for the whole view, which helps when exploring dark caves or nighttime builds.

The mod is a client-side graphics tool, so only the player's game needs it and a server does not have to run it. Its options are arranged in a settings screen built with YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and Mod Menu can open that screen from the mods list when it is installed. Installation means placing the jar in the mods folder alongside Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). The mod is published for Fabric only, with game versions 1.21.7 and 1.21.8, and the 1.1.0 file targets 1.21.8. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Overworld fog toggle

A setting removes the fog that fills the surface world, leaving distant terrain fully visible.

  2. Nether and End fog toggles

Separate options remove the fog in the Nether and in the End, each independently of the others.

  3. Underwater and lava fog toggles

Fog that obscures the view underwater or inside lava can be turned off on its own.

  4. Powder snow fog toggle

The haze inside powder snow has a dedicated switch, so it can be removed without touching other fog.

  5. Gamma correction fullbright

A fullbright option raises gamma correction to brighten the whole scene without a light source.
