First Join Message
by Serilum
First Join Message greets each newcomer with a configurable message, and can also broadcast a second message to the whole server when a new player arrives.
What it does
The mod is a minimalistic configuration-driven addition. It sends one message to each player the first time that player joins a world, which can serve as an immersive opening line or as an informational note such as server rules or minigame instructions. The text, its colour and the player name placeholder %s are all set in the config file, and leaving the message empty turns it off.
A second option broadcasts a separate message to the whole server whenever a new player joins, with its own text and colour. Collective is required, and the server runs the mod alone, so players join without installing anything. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 29 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.3, and the code is licensed as All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Source code and an issue tracker are public.

Use cases
Immersive arrival text
A survival or adventure world can greet newcomers with a short story line that sets the tone of the first session.
Server rules and guidance
Server owners can show rules, links or minigame instructions as soon as a player enters for the first time.
Community announcements
The broadcast option lets an operator announce that a new player has arrived, which suits busy public servers.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack builders who want a short, configurable greeting for new players on servers running Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt.
How it compares
Custom Join&Leave Messages is server-side only, runs on Fabric for 1.21.11 and is under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Discord Integration is also server-side only, is open source under the MIT License and covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.12.2 – 26.2, but it sends join notices to a Discord channel rather than to the game. No Join Leave Messages is server-side only and open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, published for Fabric on 1.21 – 1.21.11.
