Equipment Compare
by Grend
Equipment Compare shows a tooltip for the armor or tool a player already wears beside the tooltip of the item under the cursor, making comparisons quicker.
What it does
When a player hovers over an equipment item, the mod displays the tooltip of the currently equipped item next to it. Because it places the two tooltips side by side rather than computing differences, stats and features added by other mods appear in the comparison without extra support.
The configuration file can reverse the default behavior so comparisons show only while a key is held. Players can also adjust the hue and wording of the badge that marks the worn item, and a list of item IDs can be blacklisted to turn off comparisons for specific items. Equipment Compare requires Fabric API and Iceberg, and it is client-side only, so servers do not need it. The code is not open source; it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license, and source code and an issue tracker are publicly linked.

Use cases
Modded gear comparison
Packs with many unique items let players compare stats added by other mods, since the tooltip is shown as is.
Modpack inclusion
The mod can be used in modpacks, and pack makers can set its options through the config file.
Who it’s for: Players who collect or switch between many armor and tool types in modded worlds, and modpack authors who want a comparison tooltip without server changes.

This mod works differently than most tooltip "comparison" mods--it just shows a tooltip for what you're already wearing next to…
