EMF Compat: WATUT

by stradat

Within the client, EMF Compat: WATUT corrects How the poses from What Are They Up To render on Entity Model Features player models that animate through resource packs.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

WATUT status poses such as GUI typing and idle animations keep working when a player uses resource-pack animations built for EMF. The body and legs stay under EMF's control while the arms and head follow the pose. Remote players are included, and their statuses are synced through WATUT, so other clients show the same poses.

The mod is tested with Fresh Animations and is listed as compatible with it. Most player animation resource packs that use EMF work with it, and Player Extension, Detailed Animations and similar packs are covered as well. It requires EMF Compat: Core, What Are They Up To (Watut), [EMF] Entity Model Features and [ETF] Entity Texture Features. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the project is open source.

Key features

  1. Animated EMF player models

WATUT poses are applied correctly to player models that EMF replaces with animated versions.

  2. Idle and typing poses kept

GUI typing and idle poses continue to play while resource-pack animations run.

  3. Remote player sync

Statuses are synced through WATUT, so remote players appear with their poses on each client.

  4. Body and legs under EMF

The body and legs stay controlled by EMF, while the arms and head take the WATUT pose.

What the author says

A small client-side mod that makes What Are They Up To status poses work correctly with Entity Model Features player models. Tested with Fresh Animations: Player Extension and Detailed Animations but it should work with any player animation resource pack.
