Effectual
by iMeeTake
Effectual adds cosmetic particle effects to Minecraft Java Edition, such as breath steam in cold biomes, bubbles underwater and sparks from burning entities.
What it does
Most of the effects are triggered by what the player is doing. Steam from the mouth appears in cold biomes and comes out more often while the player runs. Bubbles rise from the mouth while oxygen lasts underwater, and from an open chest when it is underwater. A drip effect appears when the player climbs out of the water. Snow and sand add extra effects while walking or running on them, and footprints are left behind in snow.
Lamps, fires and campfires, including their soul variants, receive new particle effects, and burning entities throw off sparks like fire and campfires do. Every effect can be switched off in the configuration file, so players who dislike one can keep the rest.
Effectual is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. It has to be installed on the client only, and the server needs nothing. Architectury API, Cloth Config API and TLib are required for it to work. Files cover 1.20.1 – 26.3, with the latest builds for 26.3 and 1.20.1.
