Diagonal Windows
by Fuzs
Glass panes and iron bars gain diagonal connections, which gives builders new ways to shape windows and detailed structures.
What it does
Glass panes and iron bars join diagonally to neighboring blocks instead of stopping at right angles. The change is small, but it makes walls, roofs and facades look smoother and more natural. Blocks from other mods are included where they are compatible, and the diagonalwindows:non_diagonal_windows block tag lets a server owner exclude any block from diagonal connection.
The mod is one of a family of diagonal building additions that extend the same idea to other block types. It needs Fabric API on Fabric, Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge, and Forge Config API Port on Fabric. Forge Config Screens is optional. The mod is client and server: the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.18.2 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
Key features
Diagonal pane connections
Glass panes connect diagonally to adjacent panes, changing how window grids and curved glass sections are laid out.
Diagonal iron bars
Iron bars follow the same diagonal connection rule, so fences and cages built from bars can share the diagonal style.
Cross-mod block support
Blocks from other mods are included when they are compatible, and the block tag excludes any of them from connecting diagonally.
In-game configuration
Settings can be changed from the in-game mod menu on Fabric when a menu mod is installed, and manual edits go through the config files in the config folder.

Use cases
Building with smoother walls
Builders who want glass walls that follow angled lines can connect panes diagonally instead of stacking straight segments.
Server-controlled exclusions
Server owners can use the non-diagonal block tag to keep specific blocks from connecting diagonally.
Who it’s for: Builders who work with glass panes and iron bars, and server owners who want control over which blocks connect diagonally.
How it compares
