Diagonal Walls
by Fuzs
Diagonal Walls lets walls connect diagonally, so castles, ruins and city walls can follow angled lines instead of rigid right angles.
What it does
The mod completes the Diagonal Blocks family for walls. Once installed, wall blocks join each other on diagonal axes, which gives more natural shapes in builds. Installing it removes vertical wall connections, so walls no longer link upward and show gaps when stacked, as they did in older versions of the game. The author states this is intended and that restoring vertical connections is not planned.
Wall blocks from other mods are picked up where possible, and unwanted behavior can be controlled with the diagonalwalls:non diagonal walls block tag. The mod is a client and server mod, so the server and every player need it. Its required dependencies are Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port and Puzzles Lib. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across game versions 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
Key features
Diagonal wall connections
Wall blocks connect along diagonal axes, allowing angled layouts without fixed corners.
Vertical connections removed
Walls stop linking upward, so stacked walls show gaps, matching older Minecraft behavior.
Tag-based exclusions
The diagonalwalls:non diagonal walls block tag lets a server or pack exclude specific blocks from diagonal connections.
Support for other mods' blocks
Wall blocks added by other mods are handled dynamically whenever possible.
