Cloud Dash
With Cloud Dash, players who hold the right boots can dash in the direction of their WASD keys, and the dash can be used twice before a cooldown applies.
What it does
Cloud Dash adds a dashing mechanic. Once a player has an enchanted pair of boots carrying the dash enchantment, a movement dash is available, and a second dash can follow the first. The cooldown still applies after the second dash, and it only resets once the player touches the ground again. The direction of the dash follows the WASD keys that are held.
The enchantment that grants the mechanic is found in ancient cities and end cities, inside chests and in enchantment books, and its maximum level is II. Enabled players can get infinite dashes through a server setting. The mod is configurable through ShadowHunter22's Config Library, and gamerules change the dash rules only for server admins, or in singleplayer worlds where cheats are enabled. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu and ShadowHunter22's Config Library are required too.
The mod runs on the client and on the server, so both need it for the mechanic to work properly. Files are published for Fabric only, and builds cover 1.20 – 1.21.4 across 12 release versions. Cloud Dash is not open source, and it is distributed under All rights reserved.
Key features
Double dash
A player can dash twice in a row, with the direction set by the WASD keys held at the moment of the dash.
Dash reset on ground contact
The cooldown after the dash sequence ends once the player touches the ground, so the next dash is ready after landing.
Infinite dashes for enabled players
A setting enables unlimited dashing for players, while the cooldown still applies after each touch of the ground.
Enchantment-based access
The dash comes from an enchantment on boots, which can be found in ancient cities, end cities and chests, up to level II.
Configurable behavior
Options are set through ShadowHunter22's Config Library, and gamerules let server admins control the dash in multiplayer.
