Realistic Campfires
Realistic Campfires changes how a campfire is lit, fed and put out, so each fire has to be built and kept going by hand.
What it does
A campfire in Realistic Campfires does not work like the vanilla block. Placing one leaves it lit, and a player keeps it burning by right-clicking it while holding a log in the main hand. Flint and steel lights it at once, and without that tool four sticks can be used instead. A fire made this way lasts about five minutes by default. Breaking a campfire returns the log, and shift plus right-click takes it back from a lit fire when the hand is empty. The fire model shows which log was dropped into it, and custom textures let different logs drop in place of the default oak log. Rain puts out a campfire, and so does water one block above it.
The mod is built for players who want campfires that take more work to create and maintain. Installation needs Fabric API on the Fabric loader. The mod is published for Fabric and NeoForge across 24 release versions, 1.20 – 26.3, and it is required on both client and server, so every player and the server need it. The license is All rights reserved, and the code is not open source.
Realistic Campfires suits survival worlds where fire should cost effort, and servers that want that upkeep on every campfire placed.
Key features
Fuel from logs
Logs are added to a campfire by right-clicking it with a log in the main hand, and the fire burns from that fuel.
Lighting options
Flint and steel lights a campfire immediately, while four sticks are the default alternative for lighting it.
Timed burning
By default a lit campfire stays alight for about five minutes before it goes out.
Rain and water
Rain extinguishes a campfire, and so does water placed one block above it.
