Aviar brings Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere birds into Minecraft, as companion parrots whose breed decides which ability they grant the player.
What it does
Each Aviar companion is a parrot of a specific breed, and the breed sets the ability a player receives while the bird is nearby. Only two breeds appear in the canon lore, so the mod uses those two and invents no others for the game. Players can learn how each bird works through the in-game wiki and the guide book the mod includes.
Aviar sits within the Cosmere Mod Suite and relies on the Cosmere library mod for shared Cosmere content. Its abilities are tuned for Minecraft gameplay rather than for lore accuracy alone, and the author plans to add more lore and features over time. Aviar requires Cosmere and Curios API, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, for 1.19.2 and 1.20.1, under the MIT License and open source.
