Universal Player Data
by IceYeti
Universal Player Data lets a player's saved data carry over between worlds on a Fabric server, in the way Terraria shares a character across worlds.
What it does
Player data such as inventory, hunger, status effects and Ender Chests is kept across worlds. The mod reads the same NBT data that vanilla stores per world, with a small set of exclusions for abilities. Some data stays world-specific by default, such as the spawn point and game mode, and players start from the spawn point of the world they join. Existing save data takes priority the first time a world is opened with the mod installed. Save files are written to the .minecraft/universal-playerdata directory.
Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing it. Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are required dependencies. Released under the MIT License, the code is open source and the files cover 11 release versions 1.21.1 – 26.3, with 0.2.1 for 26.3 as the latest Fabric file. Backups are advised before use, since the author warns that save data can be lost.
Key features
Shared player data
Inventory, hunger, status effects and Ender Chest contents carry over from one world to another.
Configurable exclusions
Tags such as the last death location, game type, respawn and warden spawn tracker can be added to or removed from the exclusion list.
Spawn behavior options
A config option decides whether players start at the spawn point set for the world.
NBT tag compatibility
Data keeps the same NBT layout used by vanilla worlds, so tags can be looked up with NBT Explorer.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want a single player progression across several worlds, and players who want their inventory and effects to follow them. Owners should keep backups, since the mod changes how save data is shared.
