Players Burn in Sunlight makes the player take fire damage under open sky in daylight, the way zombies and skeletons already do.

What it does

Players Burn in Sunlight is a Fabric mod that removes the protection players normally have from direct sunlight. Under open sky in daylight, a player catches fire, while water, rain, snow and powdered snow still extinguish or prevent the burning, and a helmet blocks it. Fire resistance and fire protection keep working. The mod needs Fabric API and is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It is published for 26.3 as the latest file, across 17 release versions 1.20.6 – 26.3, and is open source under the MIT License.

Players don't burn in water, rain, snow, or powdered snow, but no distinction is made for wearing helmets (that would be too easy). Fire resistance and fire protection still work. May not show…
