Time & Wind
by CmdrJane
With Time & Wind, the length of day and night can be set separately for each dimension through server commands, and the default imbalance between the two phases can be removed.
What it does
Time & Wind lets a server or single-player world change how long daytime and nighttime last. Settings are entered in game with the /taw set-cycle-length command, which takes a dimension id and two tick values, one for day and one for night. Durations are counted in ticks, where 20 ticks make one second and 1200 ticks make one minute. Other commands remove a saved entry, print the id of the current world, and reload the configuration after changes. Vanilla only allows custom timing in the overworld, while modded dimensions that do not have fixed time can also be configured.
Installation needs Fabric API on the Fabric loader. The mod is required on both the client and the server, and it is published for Fabric and Forge across 8 release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.20.4. The code is under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the project is open source with public links to source code, an issue tracker and a wiki. Because it works through a mixin that redirects the time-of-day call, the game rule doDayLightCycle does not need to be turned off for the mod to function.
By default the mod also patches the sky angle calculation so that day and night last the same length, since vanilla daytime runs a little longer than nighttime. A config file option turns this balancing off.
Key features
Per-dimension day and night length
Day and night durations are set in ticks for each dimension that does not have fixed time.
Command-based configuration
Settings are entered in game and applied with a reload command, with no manual file editing required.
Balanced day and night
A patch to the sky angle makes the two phases equal in length, and the patch can be disabled in the config file.
World id lookup
A command prints the id of the world the player is in, so the correct entry can be written for it.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.

Use cases
Longer nights on a server
Server owners can give the overworld a shorter day and a longer night, or the other way round, for their players.
Timing in modded dimensions
Packs with modded dimensions that lack fixed time can give each one its own day and night lengths.
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who want to change the length of the day or night cycle on a Fabric or Forge world, mainly for survival or modpack setups.
How it compares
Controller Sun And Moon is client and server, closed to source with All rights reserved, and published for 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge. DayNight Control is also client and server, uses the MIT License, and is not open source, with files for 1.21.1 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Longer Day is different in environment: it is server required with an optional client, is open source under the MIT License, and only has a Forge file for 1.12.2.
