Thirst Was Taken 2
by Nightter
Thirst Was Taken 2 adds a thirst bar to survival, with water that has to be boiled or distilled before it is safe to drink.
What it does
Thirst drains as a player runs, jumps, mines and fights, and more quickly in hot biomes such as deserts and the Nether. Fire Resistance and Fire Protection slow the heat drain. Drinks and foods refill the bar, and a Quenched Buffer works like saturation: thirst drains from it first, and health regenerates only once it runs out. Below half thirst, food no longer restores health, and a bar at zero causes steady damage, while low thirst also blocks sprinting.
Clean water comes from boiling in the Hanging Pot over a lit campfire, the Copper Distiller, or a cauldron placed under open rain beneath a pointed dripstone. The Copper Distiller is a two-block still that turns sea water into pure water and burns furnace fuel to keep running. Thirst Was Taken 2 requires Fabric API. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, for game versions 1.20.1 – 26.3, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

Boiling water
Bottles, bowls, buckets, canteens and flasks can be boiled in a furnace or a Hanging Pot to make clean water.
