Switchy
Switchy lets several player profiles share one Minecraft world, with each profile keeping its own part of the player data.
What it does
Players create and switch between profiles from the profile list, and switching restores the component data and state that the profile last used. Profiles can be renamed, toggled and created from scratch, and each one can carry its own skin, nickname and chat display name. Profile data is stored per world, and the mod is built to handle plural systems, hotseat play and roleplay servers, as well as adventure maps.
Support for other mods is added through data files. Styled Nicknames, Fabric Tailor, Lampblack Pronouns, Pehkui and Origins are covered, and a chat command or edit tag can send messages as a chosen profile or match patterns in regular chat. Switchy requires Fabric API on Fabric, and on NeoForge it needs Connector and FFAPI. Switching data outside the player NBT needs an addon, and the project publishes a source code repository and an issue tracker for addon developers.
Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it is open source. Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 10 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.1.2, with the latest builds targeting 26.1.2 on Fabric and 1.21.1 on NeoForge and Quilt.
Key features
Multiple profiles per world
Several characters can be played in the same world, and each profile keeps its own inventory, state and components.
Profile switching
Profiles are switched by clicking an entry in the profile list, and the last used state of each profile is restored.
Chat and display names
Messages can be sent as a chosen profile, and display names can be adjusted through configuration to match chat formats.
Data-driven integrations
Support for Styled Nicknames, Fabric Tailor and other mods is defined in data, so compatibility can be extended without code changes.
Per-world export
Profile name and skin data can be exported to a JSON file to speed up profile handling in each world.

How it compares
Options Profiles is client-side only and open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, for 1.16.5 – 1.21.11 across four loaders. VoiceChatProfiles is client-side only and not open source, released under All rights reserved for 1.20.1 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Switchy works on the server side and does not need a client copy to join, so it differs from both in where it runs.
