Stupid Block Animations
by fnn
Stupid Block Animations gives placed and mined blocks a short tilt, wobble and settle, so building and breaking in the world feels more dynamic.
What it does
When a block is placed, it briefly tilts and then settles into position. Starting to break a block sets off a small wobble that gives visual feedback while the break progresses. The motion moves in stages, begins after a short delay, and reaches a maximum tilt before holding. Blocks that consist of several parts, such as doors and beds, are handled so that connected parts animate together and keep a natural-looking motion.
How a placed block tilts depends on which side of it was clicked and on how the block is rotated once placed, so the same action can produce a different tilt in different spots. Blocks under ceilings are supported as well. An in-game configuration menu, built with YetAnotherConfigLib, lets a player enable or disable the animation and preview the settings live. Installation needs Fabric API, Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) on Fabric. The mod is client-side only, so servers run without it and only the player needs it. It is compatible with Sodium.
