Spellbound Fire Charges

by Wayfarer

Spellbound Fire Charges merges the fire charge systems of Amendments and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks into one set of projectiles for Forge 1.20.1.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

The mod combines the fireball and fire charge systems of two required mods, Amendments and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, so the two kinds of projectile work together instead of conflicting. Fire charges from Amendments now use a smaller version of the Iron's Spells fireball renderer, and the explosion particles of both systems are merged into one effect. The trail particles of the Amendments projectiles take priority.

Explosions from the Iron's Spells fireballs follow the fire spell griefing game rule, in the same way Amendments does for its fire charges, and fire charges can cause mob griefing. Fire charges from Amendments and fireballs from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks are adjusted together by this patch, so their projectiles no longer conflict with each other. Both Amendments and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks must be installed alongside it.

Key features

  1. Merged fireball systems

Fire charges from Amendments and fireballs from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks are combined into one projectile system.

  2. Smaller fireball renderer

The Amendments fire charge is drawn with a reduced version of the Iron's Spells fireball model.

  3. Unified explosion particles

The explosion effects of both projectile systems are merged so they appear as one consistent effect.

  4. Griefing rule for fireballs

Iron's Spells fireball explosions respect the fire spell griefing game rule, as Amendments explosions already do.

What the author says

I loved the new Amendments mechanic, but I also love Iron's Spells' Fireball design. They don't necessarily click together well though, by default. This mod patches both Amendments' new Fire Charges and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks Magic Fireballs to be less conflicting. A quick summary: - Replaced the Amendments fire…
