Solar Cooker adds a furnace-style block that smelts and smokes food and ore using sunlight instead of fuel, for players who want cooking without coal or wood.

What it does

The block behaves like a furnace, but it needs sunlight rather than fuel to work. Its default configuration covers smelting recipes, and smoking recipes work with it too, which is why a player does not have to keep feeding it coal. Cooking under the sun takes about four times as long as in a vanilla Furnace, so the trade-off is time for fuel.

Installation needs Cloth Config API on every loader and Fabric API on Fabric and Quilt. Just Enough Items (JEI) and Mod Menu are optional and add recipe viewing and a settings menu when present. Solar Cooker runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Files cover 1.15.2 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the latest file for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt is 26.3-5.3.0.0, published on 2026-10-03.
