Soft Deepslate
by Meatwo310
Soft Deepslate changes the time needed to break Deepslate and the blocks related to it, so those ores take about the same time as their regular stone counterparts.
What it does
The mining-speed multiplier defaults to 2.0, which brings regular Deepslate close to the speed of ordinary stone. Block IDs and block tags decide which blocks receive the multiplier, so a server owner can add or remove blocks from the list. A separate exclude list keeps chosen blocks at their normal speed, and a force-add list overrides those exclusions when needed.
The mod is client and server, so a server and each player who connects need it installed. It runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 13 release versions, 1.7.10 – 26.2. Fabric API is required on Fabric, and Forge Config API Port is required on Forge and NeoForge. Changes made to the config and block tags take effect after a reload. The code is open source under the MIT License, and its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Adjustable mining speed
A configurable multiplier sets how much faster Deepslate-related blocks break compared with the default mining time.
Block list by ID or tag
Blocks can be added to the affected group by block ID or by a block tag, such as the common ores tag for ground and deepslate variants.
Exclusion and force-add lists
Specific blocks can be kept out of the multiplier, and a separate force-add list restores them when an exclusion conflicts.
Reload without restart
Edits to the config and block tags apply after a reload, so a world does not need to restart to test a new list.

Use cases
Balancing a survival world
A server owner who finds Deepslate tedious to break can apply the default multiplier or tune it to the pace of the server.
Targeting specific ores
Owners can use block tags to choose which ore families receive the speed change, leaving other blocks untouched.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack authors who want to adjust Deepslate mining without rewriting the game's block data.
How it compares
Deepslate Tweaks is client and server on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.18.2 – 26.2, with all rights reserved and no open source. Craftable Name Tag is server required with client optional and open source under the MIT License, but it covers a different purpose entirely and is published for 1.18.2 – 26.1.2.
