SnappyTappy
by cutebow
With SnappyTappy installed, pressing D while holding A moves the player right at once, and the movement snaps back to A when D is released.
What it does
In vanilla Minecraft, holding A and then pressing D cancels movement in both directions. SnappyTappy changes this so that the most recently pressed key of each pair decides the direction, which lets movement follow the newest press on the horizontal A/D and vertical W/S keys without a stop.
The mod is client-side only, so only the client needs it; servers run without it. It is published for Fabric alone, with files covering 1.21 – 26.3 across 17 release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 26.3, released 2026-09-17 on the beta channel. The code is under the MIT License and is open source, and the source code is public.
Settings are kept in Mod Menu through a YACL screen, where the mod can be enabled or disabled and set to WASD-only. The WASD-only option exists for fairness, so that the mod can be allowed on servers that restrict input changes, since the same result can be reached in vanilla by releasing the held key.
Key features
Last-press-wins movement
The most recently pressed key in each opposing pair sets the direction, so pressing D while holding A moves right immediately.
Horizontal and vertical pairs
The A/D pair and the W/S pair both resolve by press order, which applies to forward and backward movement as well as sideways.
WASD-only option
Limiting the behavior to WASD keys keeps it within what vanilla input can reproduce by releasing a key, which suits servers with fairness rules.
Mod Menu configuration
A YACL screen in Mod Menu lets players enable or disable the behavior and change the WASD-only setting.

What the author says
in vanilla if you were to hold A and then press D it would just stop your movement. with the mod it makes you go in the direction the D key is (WASD) so you're never stopped Yes other mods exist that do seemingly the same thing, but this will stay updated, is a lot more simple, and heavily tested.
