Hall Effect: Analog Keyboard Movement
by krookedlilly
Hall Effect: Analog Keyboard Movement makes WASD walk speed follow how far a key is pressed on a Hall Effect keyboard.
What it does
Only the four WASD movement keys become analog. Pressing a key partway produces a slower walk, and pressing it fully produces full speed. Diagonal movement is normalized, so diagonals do not outrun the cardinal directions, and a strafe angle can vary between D and the other keys. Non-movement keys such as jump, sneak, sprint, attack, use and the hotbar slots behave exactly as in vanilla, and vanilla WASD keeps working whenever the analog input is unavailable.
The mod reads continuous pressure values from Wooting boards through the Wooting Analog SDK, and from Razer Huntsman V2, V3 Pro and Analog keyboards through the Universal Analog Plugin. Wooting boards are supported natively on Windows, macOS and Linux, while Razer analog mode depends on Razer Synapse and is therefore Windows only. A toggleable lower-right HUD overlay shows the currently pressed analog key with its pressure value, which helps when verifying an install or tuning the actuation threshold. When the SDK is absent, the game logs a single notice and carries on with standard input.
The mod is released for Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21 – 26.3, with the latest files for 26.3 dated 2026-09-19. It is client-side only, so nothing needs to be installed on the server, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
Key features
Analog WASD movement
Partial key presses give partial walk speed on the four movement keys, with the signal passed straight into the game's movement system.
Normalized diagonals
Diagonal input is normalized so combined keys never move the player faster than straight-line movement.
Live pressure overlay
A toggleable panel in the lower-right corner shows the analog key currently held and its pressure value as a decimal.
Safe fallback
Without a working analog SDK, the game keeps standard keyboard input and records a single warning in the log.

What the author says
Most Minecraft mods that promise "slow walk" do it with a hotkey toggle. HE-Keyboard does it the way a controller does — by reading the actual depth of your keypress. Hall Effect keyboards report continuous 0.0–1.0 pressure values per key; this mod feeds those values straight into Minecraft's movement system. The…
