Anchor Optimizer

by cutebow

With Anchor Optimizer installed, a respawn anchor that a player has just detonated is hidden on the client at once, so the explosion looks instant while the server finishes processing it.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21 – 26.3

What it does

The mod changes only what the client shows during the short wait for the server to confirm an anchor explosion. Once the player detonates an anchor, the block is swapped on the client for a barrier block that behaves as if the anchor has already exploded. Collision for that block remains until the server confirms the explosion, so interactions follow the same logic as the real anchor while the visual result appears immediately.

The author explains that the barrier block was chosen as a compromise so the mod could be allowed on the Vanilla Tierlist, and that air would offer little benefit over it unless latency exceeds about 500 ms, where air could be abused by hitting through anchors. The mod does not change server outcomes, damage, timing or what other players see. It requires Mod Menu, runs on Fabric for the client only, and includes an updater for staying on the latest build. Files cover game versions 1.21 – 26.3, with 1.0.6+26.3 for 26.3 as the latest beta file, released 2026-09-17. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, though its source code is publicly available.

Key features

  1. Instant anchor visuals

A detonated anchor disappears from the client view at once, so the explosion appears to happen without waiting for server confirmation.

  2. Barrier block placeholder

The anchor is replaced on the client by a barrier block that is treated as an already exploded anchor for all interactions.

  3. Client-side prediction only

The change affects only the local display while the server processes the real explosion, leaving damage and outcomes unchanged.

  4. Built-in updater

An updater checks for new versions of the mod so that players remain on a build the author lists as allowed on the Vanilla Tierlist.

Use cases

High-ping play

Players with round-trip times up to about 100 ms, the range the author describes, can see anchor results without the delay.

Tierlist-compliant use

The barrier block design was chosen so the mod could be permitted on the Vanilla Tierlist, where the author says strict rules apply to unintended advantages.

Who it’s for: Players who want faster visual feedback when anchoring on Fabric, particularly on servers where the Vanilla Tierlist applies. Other clients may use it, but it changes only what the local player sees.

Questions

Does Anchor Optimizer need Mod Menu?

Yes. Mod Menu is listed as a required dependency and must be installed alongside Anchor Optimizer on Fabric.

Does the mod have to be installed on the server?

No. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy.

Does the mod change how anchor explosions affect other players?

No. The author states that it changes only the client display while waiting for the server and does not alter outcomes or desync other players.

What the author says

Instantly hides the anchor once you explode it so that it looks like zero ping, collision for that block is still there until the server confirmed the anchor explodes just you can't see it. Or another way to put it, it makes anchors look like they explode instantly on your screen, while the server is still processing…
