SmartSearch
by Polyfrost
Players who cannot recall the exact name of a setting can use SmartSearch to find it through OneConfig's search box, which it extends with a machine learning index of the mod settings.
What it does
SmartSearch extends the search input that OneConfig already provides. Rather than matching only on literal text, it builds an index of the configuration options from installed mods and sorts results by how closely they fit the query. A player can describe a feature in ordinary words, such as what the option does, and see candidates ranked from that description.
The mod requires OneConfig and runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it. It is published for Fabric and Ornithe, with builds covering the newest game releases through 26.3, and the code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, which makes it open source. Its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Machine learning search
Queries are matched against an index of settings using a learned model, not only exact words.
Index of mod options
The mod collects the configurable options of installed mods so they can be searched in one place.
Natural phrasing
A player can type a loose description of a feature and receive the settings that most likely match it.
Enhanced OneConfig input
The search field in OneConfig gains the new matching and sorting, without a separate screen to learn.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Finding a forgotten option
A player who remembers what a feature does but not its name can search by description and locate the setting.
Large mod lists
Players with many installed mods, each adding its own options, can search across all of them at once.
Who it’s for: Players who run many configurable mods on Fabric or Ornithe and use OneConfig for their settings. Polyfrost recommends pairing the mod with OneClient.
How it compares
TeamColors is a client-side mod released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and published for Fabric and Ornithe, so it covers the same loaders as SmartSearch. ChattingEnthusiast is also client-side and open source under the same license, but it targets Fabric alone and only the newest releases. ItemPhysic Lite Config is Fabric-only and is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.

Having trouble finding that one specific feature that you just forgot the name of? SmartSearch uses machine learning (NOT A TRADITIONAL LLM LIKE CHATGPT) to search any mod or option in your mods folder. This expands the default OneConfig search input to add this functionality.
