PolyNametag (Nametags)
by Polyfrost
Players who want different nametags over other players and entities can use PolyNametag, which restyles those labels and shows the player's own nametag in third person.
What it does
Nametags above players and other entities can be moved up or down and scaled smaller. The text can carry a shadow and a custom color, and its background can be recolored, given rounded corners and padding, or removed entirely. The player's own nametag can be displayed in third person and, if chosen, in the inventory as well.
Nametags can stay on screen when the interface is hidden, with separate toggles for players, armor stands and all other entities. A single switch hides every nametag at once. The mod needs OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin, and OneConfig is bundled inside the mod. It runs on the client alone, so servers need nothing installed. Files are published for Fabric and Ornithe, and for Forge with the latest file for 1.8.9, under a custom license that is not open source.

Use cases
Restyling labels in busy areas
Players in crowded spots can shrink or move nametags so they do not cover the scene behind them.
Screenshots and recordings
Hiding the HUD while keeping nametags on screen lets a capture show labels without the interface.
Who it’s for: Players who want control over how nametags look, from position and size to background, on a client that already has OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin.
