Reliable Requiem
by evanbones
Reliable Requiem is a death penalty and death recovery mod for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge that gives modpack makers and players control over what happens to inventory when a character dies.
What it does
Reliable Requiem replaces the usual all-or-nothing outcome with configurable rules. Chances to keep items can be set per inventory section, including Hotbar, Armor, Offhand and Main inventory. Items can be kept, reduced in durability by a set percentage, or dropped, and specific items can be forced to always be kept, always dropped, or destroyed on death. The mod works as an alternative to the keepInventory gamerule and also covers respawn conditions. Client and server both need it, because the rules are enforced on the server while the client handles display.
Food saturation and health can be carried through death as well. A configuration can keep saturation levels and enforce minimum and maximum food caps, and respawn health can be set as a percentage of maximum health with a hard cap. Positive and negative potion effects can be made to persist. An optional custom debuff named Memento Mori can be applied after respawn, temporarily reducing movement speed and attack, with its duration and severity set in the config. The mod is built around the Corpse Complex death recovery mod's features, and it requires Fabric API on Fabric.
Key features
Inventory section chances
Keep chances can be set separately for the Hotbar, Armor, Offhand and Main inventory, giving precise control over losses.
Item overrides
Specific items can be set to always be kept, always dropped, or completely destroyed on death, and built-in tag support covers the c:soulbound enchantment tag.
Protected and condensed drops
Death drops can be made immune to explosions and prevented from despawning, and grouped so that items and experience orbs do not clutter the ground.
Hunger, health and effects
Food saturation can be kept with caps, respawn health set as a percentage with a hard cap, and potion effects kept through death.
