Random Assistant
by Bawnorton
Random Assistant adds a recipe-book style tracker that records drops, loot tables and crafting paths as a player plays on Fabric.
What it does
The mod builds a hierarchical drop-tracking graph of random drops, so a player can see which sources have produced which items over time. A book records loot tables found in the world and logs actions such as block breaking, entity killing, fishing and chest looting. A second book tracks recipes crafted, blocks used and interactions with the world, including crafting paths that show how a specific item was reached.
Tracking is done through a custom implementation rather than the in-game statistics system, so the data is stored by the mod itself. Because of that, the mod works without any server-side install for these books to record loot tables and statistics. Random Assistant requires Fabric API, runs on client and server, and is released under the MIT License, so it is open source. Files target 1.19.3 – 1.20, and the latest Fabric file is 1.4.2 for 1.20, published on 2023-06-11.
Key features
Drop-tracking graph
A hierarchical graph shows which random drops have come from which sources, so a player can trace each item back.
Loot table book
The book records loot tables as they are opened in the world, building a list the player can check later.
Action log
Actions such as stripping logs, waxing copper and breaking blocks are all logged by the tracking system.
Recipe and crafting paths
A second book shows recipes crafted and interactions with blocks, including the path taken to obtain a specific item.
Inventory widget
A red book appears as a widget beside the inventory, and it opens or closes alongside the recipe book.

How it compares
Server Tick is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and built for 1.16 – 1.20.2, so it does not track player drops. No Recipe Book is client-side only, not open source, and uses an All rights reserved license across Fabric and NeoForge. GraphUtil is client-side only with a custom license and is not open source, while Random Orb is a client and server mod, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
