All The Trims
by Bawnorton
With All The Trims, any item in the game can serve as an armour trim material, and every piece of armour becomes trimmable.
What it does
Armour trims in vanilla Minecraft are limited to a fixed set of materials. All The Trims lifts that limit by letting any item, including items added by other mods, act as a trim material. Armour from modded sets can be trimmed as well, so the trim system applies across the whole armour collection in a world.
Custom trim templates can be added through datapacks or other mods. Trims are drawn at runtime rather than stored as separate texture files, which keeps the texture atlas free of trim graphics. The colour of each trim is taken from a gradient built from the item's own texture, moving from its most vivid shade to its dullest. The mod needs no extra files or configuration: placing it in the mods folder is enough.
Installation requires Architectury API and RuntimeTrims on every loader, and Fabric API on Fabric. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across three release versions, 1.20 – 1.21, and the code is under the MIT License.
Key features
Any item as a trim material

All armour trimmable
Every armour piece accepts a trim, including armour added by other mods.
Custom trim templates
New trim templates can be supplied through datapacks or by other mods.

Use cases
Modded armour sets
Players who use armour from several mods can trim all of it with the same system.
Large modpacks
Modpack makers who add a few armour and content mods can offer a very large number of trim combinations in one world.
Who it’s for: Players who want more trim options on vanilla or modded armour, and modpack makers who combine many armour mods in one world.
