Oritech

by rearth

Oritech is a Fabric and NeoForge technology mod with animated multiblock machines, drones, lasers and electric tools for processing ores and automating farms.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution 4.01.20.4 – 26.1.2

What it does

Oritech focuses on processing chains. Ores have several processing variants, and most resources can be obtained in more than one way, so a player is rarely stuck waiting on a single rare item. Plastic, for example, can come from farming items or from oil processing. Renewable sources cover fuel and most items, with large automated farms as one route, and late-game metals come from a bedrock extractor. Naturally spawned resource nodes and oil wells encourage players to build auxiliary bases and carry items to a central hub.

Machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and upgrades are added through addon blocks. Item, fluid and energy pipes link the machines together, with pipe blocks holding entities only where they connect to a machine and networks cached to limit update traffic. The mod also includes drones for moving items over long distances, lasers that break blocks automatically once they are placed, colorable machines and a cybernetic augmentation for the player. Translations are available in nine languages besides English.

Oritech requires Architectury API, Athena, Fabric API, Forge Config API Port and Geckolib, with Oracle Index as an optional dependency. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Builds cover 1.20.4 – 26.1.2 across five release versions, and the code is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, which does not make it open source.

Key features

  1. Multiple ore processing chains

Ores pass through several processing variants, and each resource can usually be produced in more than one way.

  2. Automated farming machines

Farming machines produce fuel and items, giving players a renewable source for the mod's core materials.

  3. Electric tools and armor

Electric tools and armor pieces join the mod's equipment, powered by the same energy network as the machines.

  4. Drones and lasers

Drones carry items across long distances, and lasers break blocks automatically once they are placed.

  5. Pipes and cybernetic augmentation

Item, fluid and energy pipes connect machines, and a cybernetic augmentation adds new abilities to the player.
