Nuit Interop
by FlashyReese
Nuit Interop lets resource packs written for OptiFine and MCPatcher custom skies display inside Nuit, the successor to FabricSkyBoxes.
What it does
At runtime the mod converts supported OptiFine custom sky definitions into the skybox format used by Nuit, so packs that already exist can load without being rebuilt. Results are approximate, since OptiFine and MCPatcher render skies differently from Nuit, and a converted pack may differ in detail from its original look.
Nuit Interop requires Fabric API and Nuit. It was formerly known as FabricSkyBoxes Interop and is also built for NeoForge and Quilt. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing. Files exist for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt across 22 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
OptiFine custom sky support
Supported OptiFine and MCPatcher custom sky definitions are read and converted to Nuit's skybox format.
Smart fallback
When a sky definition cannot be converted, the mod falls back to a default handling path instead of stopping the sky.
Adjustable conversion
Conversion can be tuned so the result sits closer to the original pack's intended appearance.
Legacy FabricSkyBoxes packs
Sky packs made for the older FabricSkyBoxes format continue to work through Nuit Interop.

Use cases
Keeping an existing sky pack
Players who already use an OptiFine sky pack can keep it while switching to Nuit as their sky mod.
Mixed sky libraries
A player with both older FabricSkyBoxes packs and OptiFine-style packs can load them together in one setup.
Who it’s for: Players who use custom sky resource packs on a client and want to keep those packs when using Nuit.
How it compares
MCPPPP is a Fabric client mod for 1.17 – 1.19.3 under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and it is open source. CIT Resewn is a Fabric client mod for 1.17 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License, and it is open source as well. Nuit Interop differs by converting OptiFine sky definitions rather than custom item textures, and it covers NeoForge and Quilt in addition to Fabric.
