Nemo's Tags
by NemoNotFound
Nemo's Tags adds new item, block and entity tags that other mods and datapacks can read, so that content from different sources groups together under the same names.
What it does
The library extends how Minecraft handles custom content. Its additional tags are added to the game's internal tag system, which lets mods target items, blocks and tools by a shared label rather than by individual IDs. Modders can use the new tags to shape their logic without hard-coded lists, and players see items from separate mods work together more smoothly.
Nemo's Tags requires Fabric API and runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. It is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything. Its builds cover game versions 1.21.5 – 1.21.11, with 2.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file, released under the MIT License. The project is open source, and its source code, issue tracker and wiki are public. Nemo's Mossy Blocks and Nemo's Copper depend on it.
Key features
Additional item and block tags
New tags group items, blocks and tools so that mods can refer to them with a single shared name.
Modder-friendly tag logic
Tag handling lets content from different mods be matched without hard-coded lists.
Multi-loader template
The code is structured on a CC0-licensed multi-loader template so one codebase serves Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
Public documentation
A wiki describes the tags, and the issue tracker and source code are open to the community.

Use cases
Cross-mod compatibility
Packs combining several mods can use the shared tags so recipes and behaviors cover items from each of them.
Mod development
Modders building content for Minecraft can reference the added tags instead of listing individual item IDs.
Who it’s for: Modpack makers, server owners who run several content mods together, and modders who want their items to work with other mods.
How it compares
Unified API is a library for Fabric and NeoForge with files for 1.21.11 – 26.3, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it works on either side, and neither needs it. RunicLib covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.20 – 1.21.1 under a custom license that is not open source, and it needs both client and server. Data Tables is a Fabric library for 1.21.7 – 1.21.8 under the MIT License, open source, and only the server needs it. Nemo's Tags is server-side only and targets 1.21.5 – 1.21.11.
