Monobank

by mortuusars

Monobank adds a protected personal storage block that players lock with a three-item combination, and a player-owned bank that others cannot open without the lock.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.18.2 – 1.21.1

What it does

A Monobank is placed by a player and becomes theirs the first time it is set down. Its combination is chosen at random on first placement, and only the owner can open it without entering that combination. The lock accepts three items in sequence, matched by item type alone, so item tags do not count for the match. Other players cannot break a Monobank owned by someone else, which makes it suitable for keeping valuables on a shared server.

Changing the lock takes a Replacement Lock, and the owner must enter a new combination for the change. Replacing the lock also changes the owner to whoever installs it. Villages can generate vaults containing several Monobanks alongside other storage containers, and a player who steals from villagers and is caught is punished harshly.

Monobank needs Fabric API on Fabric and Forge Config API Port on Forge and NeoForge. Thief is optional. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is released under the MIT License, is open source, and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.18.2 – 1.21.1.

  1. Protected personal storage

A block that stores items and resists explosions, lava and being broken by other players.

  2. Three-item combination lock

The lock opens only when three items are entered in the correct order, matched by item type.

  3. Random first combination

The combination is generated when the bank is first placed, and the owner opens it without entering it.

  4. Replacement Lock

A Replacement Lock sets a new combination and transfers ownership to the person who installs it.

  5. Village vaults

Questions

Does Monobank need Fabric API?

Fabric API is required on Fabric. On Forge and NeoForge, Forge Config API Port is required instead.

Does Monobank have to be installed on the server?

Yes. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod.

How is a Monobank's combination set?

Each bank receives a random combination on first placement. The owner opens it directly, and a Replacement Lock can set a different combination later.

Is Thief required for Monobank?

No. Thief is an optional dependency, and Monobank works without it.
