Mob Rebirth
Mob Rebirth makes some mobs return after they die, with a configurable chance that a death leads to a reborn mob.
What it does
When an animal or other mob dies, Mob Rebirth can bring it back at a chance set in the config. The chance can differ by mob type and by biome, and the config can add extra mobs when a reborn one appears, with the number of extras also set there. Whether a reborn mob is spawned after a player or a non-player kill can be switched separately, and damage from sunlight can be taken into account, which gives undead mobs a higher chance of extra spawns.
The mod runs on the server, so it is installed there and only the server needs it. Clients can join without it, and singleplayer clients use it only through the integrated server. Defaults can be changed to customize the behavior. Fabric, Forge and Quilt files are published for 1.14.4 – 1.18.2, and the required libraries are Annotated DI, Fabric API and Fireplace Lib, with Mod Menu optional for the config screen on a client.
Key features
Rebirth chance
A chance set in the config decides whether a dying mob comes back, and it can be tuned per mob type.
Extra spawns
Reborn mobs can bring extra mobs with them, and both the chance and the count are configurable.
Kill source options
Separate switches control rebirth after kills by players and after kills by other sources.
Biome and sunlight rules
Biomes can be included or excluded, and sunlight damage can raise the spawn chance for undead mobs.
