Mining Helmet (Now Dyable)
Mining Helmet (Now Dyable) is a helmet mod that emits light while the wearer travels through caves, and its leather band can be dyed.
What it does
Wearing the helmet casts light around the player in dark places such as caves, using the Dynamic Lights mod that the launcher installs. The light goes out underwater. Dynamic Lights is required, and LambDynamicLights - Dynamic Lights and Geckolib are required too, along with Fabric API on Fabric and Quilt. Sodium Dynamic Lights is an optional companion for smoother light on Forge 1.20.1, though it only works in singleplayer and on servers that run it.
The helmet is classed as Equipment with Adventure and Utility tags. Only the leather band changes colour when dyed, following the same method used for leather armour. Mining Helmets can be found in certain chests. Trinkets and Curios support lets the helmet sit in those equipment slots. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across the 1.20 – 26.3 range, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
